I guess I cant get any support for the Intel D850MV. I am trying to upgrade the bios to properly report the cpu trying to upgrade cpu to a 2.4b northwood 533fsb. But it only reads 1.8 at 400fsb my bios string is MV85010A.15A.0041.P05. Somewhere i read that that bios number needed to end in either P10 or P15 to support the 533fsb. I went to the intel site and found the only few bios updates they had for this mobo. The id string for the new bios (or so i can find)is MV85010A.86A.0038.P15.
I tryed to flash the bios with the new file but get an error (H48) invalid reserved string in flash image header, also (H01) flash data image not valid. Therefore still not able to update.

Anybody have any ideas on this? The motherboard you need to support that chip is is the D850EMV2L FSB400/533 if you have another version of the board the bios update won't support the FSB 533. I build 2 systems on that board not sure now what version of the bios I installed. But it seems to me that I did flash the bios on the 2.4 system I built. Intel has two types of bios updates 1 is the old style which requires the use of a floppy disk (that's the one I used) and the new style which uses the flash from wiothin windows.Thank you, I thought this was the D850MV and not the V2. Could that be the problem Im haveing trying to update the bios. I have searched Intel site and found what I think is the correct update.
Even though this board wont read the cpu right, Will the cpu screw up later down the road because it not working to its full power. Its underclocked right? Its a 2.4 reading as a 1.8.
Guess its time to upgrade the mobo.
